Odfjell Technology sponsors DHSELI Session with aramco focused on TRS safe operations
Odfjell Technology proudly sponsored and hosted the latest Drilling HSE Leadership Initiative (DHSELI) session in collaboration with Aramco. The gathering brought together more than 250 representatives from D&WO, drilling contractors and key service providers across Saudi Arabia, creating a strong platform for open dialogue, shared learning and discussion around best practices in health, safety and environmental performance.
As part of the programme, Regional QHSE Manager Shady Kamal delivered an in‑depth technical session on TRS Safe Operations. His presentation explored safety‑critical interfaces between TRS crews and drilling teams, the importance of pre‑job readiness, rig‑up preparation, equipment verification and the growing role of technology and automation in reducing red‑zone exposure. The session highlighted how structured planning, clear communication and modern TRS solutions contribute to safer, more efficient wellsite operations.
Participants engaged actively throughout the event, exchanging insights and field experiences while identifying opportunities to strengthen alignment across the well construction process. The collaborative atmosphere underscored the value of cross‑company engagement and consistent safety leadership in driving improved outcomes.
Odfjell Technology was represented by its KSA team and Middle East leadership, including Vice President Paul Toner, Area Manager Philip Willig and Regional QHSE Manager Shady Kamal. Their presence reinforced the company’s commitment to supporting industry‑wide learning and continuous improvement in operational safety.
The DHSELI session received positive feedback from attendees and reflected the shared commitment of Aramco, service companies and drilling contractors to advancing HSE performance across the sector. By sponsoring and hosting this session, Odfjell Technology reaffirmed its dedication to fostering collaboration, strengthening operational interfaces and contributing to safer, smarter and more reliable drilling operations across the region.
