We have an exciting opportunity for Hydraulic Technician to join our Mariner team working on a 2/3 rotation.
Role Summary:
Responsible for various duties including but not limited to the operational integrity, safety and the cost-effective running of all drilling equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance. The ultimate objective of this position is to assist in ensuring that all hydraulic systems remain operative throughout the operation and comply with safety, regulatory body and test standards. All role holders will demonstrate safe working practices in line with Company policies, procedures, training, and legal requirements. Personnel will ensure their own safety at all times and will assist in ensuring the safety of others by participating fully in the Company and Client Safety Management System.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance, repair and defect elimination of all hydraulic equipment within the drilling package.
- Ensure maintenance work is carried out in accordance with the company’s safety and quality policy, attending in particular to the drilling package hydraulic equipment on board.
- Ensure that all work is carried out to the requirements of the Permit-to-Work system and in compliance with Safety Procedures. Report faults, defects and irregularities relating to mechanical/hydraulic systems and associated equipment to the Offshore Maintenance Supervisor.
- Accurate reporting and compliance within company CMMS and reporting systems.
- Work as part of the team and carry out area tech duties for responsible areas.
- Initially answerable to Equinor Projects Team thereafter the Maintenance Offshore Supervisor.
- Conversant with and comply to Equinors Performance Standards.
- Participate in the execution of multi-disciplinary maintenance.
- Housekeeping in the mechanical / hydraulic workshop and other areas of responsibility.
- Installation of new mechanical / hydraulic equipment.
- Assist / carry out commissioning of new equipment / systems as required.
- Control and “Hook up” of equipment for service companies and integrate them to the rig systems.
- Update and report “red mark-up” for documentation related to onboard hydraulic systems and installations/equipment.
- Execute planned/preventative maintenance in accordance with the company’s maintenance program and ensure that this is updated in the electronic SAP maintenance system.
- Provide feedback on preventative maintenance routines to improve uptime / efficiency.
- The Technician on duty has been delegated professional responsibility onboard regarding operation, maintenance and repair of the systems that are within his area of responsibility.
- The Technician is responsible for ensuring that work is carried out in a safe, professional manner in accordance with the safety provisions contained in regulations and the company’s and operator’s requirements/standards.
- Contribute to what stock is provided with the consumables, parts and tools necessary for execution of maintenance within his/her area of responsibility.
- System/Equipment responsibilities.
Qualifications and/or Experience:
- Must be fully qualified through an apprenticeship or SVQ type scheme.
- Specialist training in hydraulic (drilling ) equipment or within the hydraulics service industry.
- Documented relevant practical hydraulics experience from offshore/maritime operations.
- Experienced in fault diagnosis, servicing and maintenance of hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read and understand hydraulic circuit drawings.
- Experience in tubing installation, hose assembly and testing.
- Conversant with metric and imperial hydraulic fitting thread forms.
It would be advantageous to have the following:
- Experience with PVision permit system.
- Experience with DrillMec Interventions Completions Units.
- Previous or standing isolating authority within an Equinor Platform.
- A good understanding of Equinor systems, TR’s, OM’s, GL’s, ProCoSys, SAP and STID.
- Extensive experience in the latest generation offshore drilling equipment.
