Workshop Mechanic

A vacancy has arisen for the position of Workshop Mechanic within our Well Services Department based in Portlethen.

The key duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the responsibilities detailed below:

  • Perform maintenance, repair, inspections, and testing of hydraulic, mechanical and manually operated equipment
  • Perform specialised maintenance on tools/equipment in accordance with company procedures
  • Prepare and complete load outs of tools/equipment to rig/base
  • Assist in the housekeeping of the Odfjell Technology facility, including all work areas and Yard
  • Assist in Goods In activities to receive, control, mark, and store equipment at the base
  • Ongoing Self-inspection of performed work
  • Ensure that all material movements are carried out in a cost effective and safe manner
  • Participate in the OTL Safety Observation System at the worksite, including reporting incidents and near misses, unsafe behaviours and conditions
  • Ensure ongoing quality of service is provided, and that all internal and external clients’ requirements are met
  • Support in the provision of training to new warehouse staff as required
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of various functions of other departments and shore-based operations
  • At all times represent the Company in a professional manner both on and off the job, including maintaining confidentiality of Company and client business
  • At all times follow the OTL HSE Rules and safety expectations
  • Participate in company training/courses, and general meetings as/when required
  • Travel other locations if requested
  • Perform any other duties as directed by your supervisor

The successful candidate must have the following:

  • The right to work in the UK
  • Qualification in a mechanical discipline.
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years of mechanical experience in a similar role.
  • Preferred but not essential: Experience with Tubular Running Equipment (power tongs, power units, casing running tools).
  • Preferred but not essential: Travelling crane and forklift certification.
