Hydraulic activation based on pressure drop
The tool uses circulation-induced pressure to activate the Knife Arms, which vary in length depending on the required cutting diameter.
Cement-compatible design
A big through-bore allows cementing without obstruction, making it possible to set plugs and place cement correctly without pulling out of hole.
Tool integrity and control
Knife Arms remain locked while running in-hole to prevent early deployment. Cutting starts only after dropping an activation ball. The process is monitored using torque and controlled by adjusting the circulation rate. As cutting continues, the piston assembly moves and pivots the Knife Arms to perform the cut. A pressure drop confirms when the preset diameter has been reached, and the cutter automatically retracts during retrieval.
