Odfjell Technology (OTL) provides a systematic approach to preventative and proactive maintenance of steel structures, with the purpose of ensuring safety, operational regularity, and longevity.
Structural Integrity Management (SIM) prolongs the lifecycle of offshore structures and avoids late life multi-million-dollar consequences in repairs and non-productive time. OTL utilizes the experience database from more than 600 operational years of mobile offshore units (MOUs) in harsh environment. The experienced data is used for validation and improved prediction of failure potential of the asset’s structure. The improved predictions provide large cost savings. This system of maintenance has been utilised on Odfjell Drilling’s fleet with proven historical cost savings in comparison to other MOUs.
